The house that reminded us of Graceland
Angelina and her partner had been searching Missouri with another agent and not finding it. One agent-to-agent referral later, the search crossed the river — and in January 2025 they closed on their forever home in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
Stuck on one side of the river
Angelina and her partner had been house hunting for a while with another agent — and not finding it. The problem wasn't effort; it was geography. Their agent was only licensed in Missouri, and the home they were picturing kept not showing up there. So their agent — who knew me through a lender we both work with — sent them my way: I'm licensed in both Missouri and Illinois, and the search could finally cross the river. When another agent trusts you with their own clients, you take that seriously.
Starting over, the right way
When I pick up a search mid-stream, I don't just resume someone else's list. We toured a couple of homes first so I could learn what they actually liked and didn't — the things buyers can't always put into words until they're standing in a living room. From the beginning, it was fun. We clicked.
Then we found it
The house was right — the location, the layout, the bones. The decor was… a journey. Gold blinds. White carpet. Mirrored shelving. I'm not sure I've ever actually seen Graceland, but standing in that living room, Graceland is what came to mind, and the name stuck.
Here's what made Angelina and her partner great buyers: they could see past the finishes to the house underneath. Blinds and carpet are a weekend project. Location and layout are forever. They found their forever home in Fairview Heights — a house other buyers had probably been walking away from for years.
Closing day, done right
I joked that I owned clothes that matched the house: gold Converse, gold shirt, white Levi's. I wasn't bluffing. They went on Amazon and bought Elvis wigs and props, and the closer at the title company took our picture. Some closings are just signatures. This one was a party.

Gary jumped in to help us buy a home in Illinois last minute. We had been looking in Missouri and wasn't finding what we wanted so the realtor we were working with sent Gary our way. He was patient, communicated well and has a great personality! Thank you Gary for helping us find our forever home! You are the best!
